Markham is currently home to over 350,000 people, which is forecasted to grow to over 416,000 people by the year 2031, while employment numbers are expected to rise to over 223,700 in the same time period. The city will also soon be home to the future York University Markham Campus which is set to open in 2024, and will accommodate 4,200 students.
