The Government of Canada offers a First-Time Home Buyers’ GST/HST rebate to help eligible buyers recover some of the tax paid on a new home purchased from a builder. To qualify, buyers must be first-time homeowners, at least 18, and intend to live in the home as their primary residence. The rebate is up to $50,000 for homes valued up to $1 million, with partial rebates for homes between $1 million and $1.5 million.
