Markham is currently home to over 350,000 people, which is forecasted to grow to over 416,000 people by the year 2031, while employment numbers are expected to rise to over 223,700 in the same time period. The rise in population, along with more employment opportunities in the upcoming years, will make Markham an even more desirable city to reside in, all while increasing the demand for housing.

The City of Markham provides several transportation options, including Highways 407 and 404, York Region Transit, and GO Transit, all of which make travelling throughout the GTA a breeze.

Markham is known as the “high-tech capital of Canada” and is at the centre of the 2nd largest tech cluster in the country. The city is home to over 650 corporate head offices and more than 1,500 high tech and life science companies including IBM, Lenovo, Toshiba, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and more. The city will also soon be home to the future York University Markham Campus which is set to open in 2024, and will accommodate 4,200 students.
