Starting to build the foundation for success
It all began in Toronto in the early 1950’s when David Sud emigrated from Poland to Toronto, Canada. Although he had no real estate development experience, he did possess a bold entrepreneurial spirit, vision and passion for construction. This passion materialized in a duplex, his first development project.
From the start, David knew that through sheer hard work, integrity and honesty, he had the basis of a burgeoning real estate development business, that continued to expand into retail, commercial and industrial development in Canada and the United States.
David was fortunate to pass on to his hard work ethic to the next generation where his sons have led the more recent success of The Sud Group real estate business.
OUR CURRENT CHAPTER
Building on our tradition of excellence towards the future
Today, Elliott Sud oversees the day to day operations of the company as its President. The Sud Group prides itself on being a vertically integrated company. This allows it to address every aspect of development, including land acquisition, design, construction, financing and property management. With this approach, the Sud Group ensures accountability at every stage of the real estate process. As one of Toronto’s premier developers and property owners, it continues to be a well-run family business that is built upon honesty and transparency.
With dozens of projects around North America, the company continues to acquire and invest into new projects, including numerous retail and multi-residential projects in Phoenix, Arizona and most recently, the 47-story residential condominium tower located at Charles & Church Street in downtown Toronto.
OUR ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY
“Give back and remember where you came from.”
Those words were always in David’s heart — and in his actions. He was a Holocaust survivor and experienced the unimaginable. As it always has, The Sud Family continues to play a leading role in the local community, supporting many charities, organizations and individuals in need.
This includes endowment projects with the United Jewish Federation (UJA), donating land to North York’s One Kenton Alzheimer’s Centre of Excellence spearheaded by B’nai Brith Canada, and finally, continued major support for the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation.
